Finaly I made my debut on the drag-strip. After haveing a LOT of trouble both with my car, and my wifes car, we finaly got underway towards Frøya, an island 200km from where we live. When we got there we went in to register the car for the race the next day. Then I discovered that I didn't have my pink-slip with me! I had left it in the other Charger.. A lovely lady from the local club said that she could get the information she needed from the internet. Thank God! The following morning I drove up to the strip, and old airport, and went in to complete my registration. But that would prove to be a problem.. Since my car never had been raced in Norway before, she couldn't find the information she needed.. What the hell do I do now?? Well luckily I have a very kind father-in-law that drove from his house to my wifes aunts house to get the key for our house, went home to us and got the carkeys for the -75 Charger, found the pink-slip, went to a local postoffice and faxed it to a gas-station out on Frøya! I got it there in time and could enter the race. Thanks for all your help, Halvard! :o)

I entered the race in the Bracket-class and got ready to race. The weather showed us all who call the shots, so we had to wait for the rain to disapper. As I rolled up to the starting-line, a guy came over and told me: "your car has a water-leak!" I got out and popped the hood. Luckily it was just the expansiontank that had puked a little.. I had idled the car a little to long waiting for my turn. A electric fan is going in before next time! Anyhow it got my time to race. I was so nervous I almost wet my pants.. Did a little burnout and went into stage. Got killed on the tree! Over a second reactiontime! Drove my first ever 1/8 mile on 9.8! Pretty pleased with that! Considering that I dont have slicks, I drove with my airfilter on, and have a trans that needs an overhaul.. We drove three qualification runs. Got 9.8 on the first, 9.6 on the second and 9.4 on the third. Therefor I set my index to 9.4. I dont quite know why, but I didn't run any faster than that. Nerves maybe.. Anyhow we started on the elimination. I got lucky on some and drove quite good on some others. Ended up in the final! Got a good start there, but my opponent got closer to his index than I did. But to be runner-up in my first ever race? I think thats pretty good! :o)

PS! We drove the Charger 200km to Frøya, raced it and drove 200km back home! Streetlegal baby!
